Preparing and equipping the patient for surgery

1. Raise the leg upwards while supporting it at the knee.

2. Place a towel or cover on the operating table under the raised leg.

3. Prepare the area to include:

o   The entire foot and between the toes.

o   The entire circumference of the wrist and the leg up to the knee.
