- Definition

First aid is provided to a person who has suffered any injury or sudden illness until the arrival of the medical team or ambulance, using the tools available at the time, with the aim of preserving the life of the injured person, avoiding the deterioration of his condition, and helping him recover quickly.




- First aid objectives

The primary goal of first aid is to prevent death or serious injury or deterioration. The main goals of first aid can be summarized in three main points:

1.  Preserving life

2.  stop harm or damage

3.  Promote healing by providing initial treatment for injury.

- First aid principles

1.  Take charge of the situation

2.  Make sure there is no danger at the accident site

3.  Wear personal protective equipment

4.  If someone arrived at the accident scene before you, rush to help him

5.  Reassure the injured person and let him know who you are and that you are helping him.

6.  Ask the injured person not to move in order to preserve his spine.

7.  Ask for help from those around you

8.  Move the injured person away from the accident site

9.  Call an ambulance  123))

10.  Do not leave the injured person alone

11.  Transport the injured person to the hospital

Call an ambulance:

1.  Leave your name and phone number clearly

2.  Clearly identify the location of the accident

3.  Determine the easiest route to the accident site

4.  Describe what happened and what is happening in the place

5.  Determine the number of victims and their condition approximately

6.  State the expected hazards in or around the accident site

7.  Identify the requirements for dealing with the event

8.  Never hang up the line before the ambulance service officer hangs up

- Medical emergencies

Chest pain

Difficulty breathing

continuous bleeding

fainting

Fever or headache with neck stiffness

Sudden dizziness or weakness

Overdose of medical drugs

Human or animal bite

Severe and sudden pain anywhere in the body

hallucination or altered consciousness

Severe burns

Poisoning cases

severe and persistent vomiting

Desire to commit suicide or kill

Difficulty speaking or inability to speak

Sudden loss or blurred vision

Head injuries accompanied by altered level of consciousness , vomiting, or headache.

Deep wounds, facial and hand wounds

Spinal injuries

Road accidents and falls from heights

Conducting a general examination: The general examination of the injured person is conducted according to the following sequence :

1-  degree of awareness

2-  Pulse

3-  blood pressure

4-  temperature

5-  Skin color

6-  pupil

7-  Chest

8-  Sweat and perspiration

9-  pain

10-   body parts movement
