- Planning
This is the
third step in the nursing process, where a comprehensive and individualized
care plan is created for the patient, adjusted according to their needs. The
planning process includes the following:
- Setting priorities: These are issues that require
urgent intervention and may threaten the patient's life. For example, if
the patient is in pain, pain management is a priority. However, if there
is internal or external bleeding alongside the pain, bleeding takes
priority as it threatens the patient's life.
- Setting goals: These are the desired
outcomes of the plan, and they can be short-term or long-term goals.
The goal of the
planning process for cancer patients is to help nurses identify priorities for
evaluations and interventions for both short-term and long-term care goals
