Management of Sepsis and Septic Shock 2026

-        Incidence of ARDS and pneumonia  within 7 days of ICU admission

Numerator: Number of patients with sepsis or septic shock who had ARDS and pneumonia  within 7 days of ICU admission.

      Denominator: Total number of patients admitted to ICU with sepsis or septic shock.

-        Incidence of Ventilator-free days of patients with sepsis or septic shock during ICU stay

Numerator: Number of Ventilator-free days during ICU stay from day of ICU admission.

      Denominator: Total number of days of stay in ICU of patients with sepsis or septic shock.

-        Percentage of patients with sepsis or septic shock who had received Venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis

 Numerator: Number of patients who had received thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis.

       Denominator: Total number of patients admitted to ICU with sepsis or septic shock.

-        Percentage of patients with sepsis or septic shock, who received early (within 72 h) initiation of enteral nutrition.

 Numerator: Number of patients who received early (within 72 h) enteral nutrition.

       Denominator: Total number of patients admitted to ICU with sepsis or septic shock.

-        Rate of 28-days mortality in patients with sepsis or septic shock

Numerator: Number of patients with sepsis or septic shock who died within 28 days from the day of admission to ICU (28-day mortality)

      Denominator: Total number of patients admitted to ICU with sepsis or septic shock
