Symptoms:
- One or more clefts in the upper lip, possibly accompanied by a cleft in the palate.
- Difficulty in sucking and swallowing during feeding.
- Recurrent symptoms of pneumonia and middle ear infections.
Nursing Care:
- Use a special nipple when feeding the newborn.
