live with the colostomy, as some people may feel scared, disgusted, or
repulsed by it, but these feelings typically subside with time, especially
with adequate support.
Solid foods should be avoided,
especially for ileostomy patients, as the small intestine is not
accustomed to digesting solid foods initially.
Ileostomy patients should
always carry extra colostomy bags when traveling in case of emergencies.
