Purpose

· Prevent Disease Transmission: The primary purpose is to prevent the spread of infectious diseases within the healthcare setting. This protects:

o  Patients: Minimizes the risk of patients acquiring infections from other patients or healthcare workers.

o  Healthcare Workers: Protects healthcare professionals from exposure to infectious agents.

o  Visitors: Reduces the risk of infection transmission to visitors of the healthcare facility.
