Preparing and equipping the patient for surgery

1. Raise the arm and support it above the elbow.

2. Place a sterile towel over the arm, under the hand.

3. Prepare the area, including:

o   The hand (front, back, and between the fingers).

o   The forearm up to above the elbow.
